He has a wife and young son and lives in L.A.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Little Boy Blue
Young Alex Hamilton is intelligent and independent but given to sudden fits of violent rage. Rebellious since his parents split up, Alex is constantly absconding from foster homes and institutions to be with his father, a broken man who can't give his son the home he desperately needs. Surrounded by well-meaning, over-worked social workers, vicious and cruel authority figures but always by no good peers, Alex is on a collision course with the law and himself.

Dog Eat Dog
Carved from a lifetime of experience that runs the gamut from incarceration to liberation, Dog Eat Dog is the story of three men fresh out of prison who now have the task of adapting to civilian life. The California three strikes law looms over them, but what the hell, they're going to do it, and they're going to do it their way.

Troy, an aloof mastermind, seeks an uncomplicated, clean life but cannot get away from his hatred for the system. Diesel is on the mob's payroll and interest in his suburban home and nagging wife is waning. The loose cannon of the trio, Mad Dog, is possessed by true demons within, that lead him from one explosive situation to the next. One more hit, one more jackpot, and they'll all be satisfied. Troy constructs the perfect crime and they pull it off, but in the aftermath, they keep finding the law, surrounding them wherever they go.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM

"Edward Bunker is a true original of American letters. His previous books have been criminal classics: novels about criminals, written by an ex-criminal, from the unregenerately criminal viewpoint. Dog Eat Dog is the best novel about armed robbery ever written! It is pure realism and an uncompromising work of fiction" - James Ellroy

"Bunker belongs to the majestic and uncompromising tradition of Jean Genet and Hubert Selby Jnr, who have introduced us to victim literature. Bunker's novel is the culmination of those innocent tales of puberty in America that began with Huck Finn and brought us to Salinger's Catcher in the Rye. In Dog Eat Dog/Little Boy Blue he has taken us to the end of the line. he has introduced us to the most endearing, fascinating and violent child we are ever likely to meet" - Norman Bogner (author of Arena)

ESSENTIAL TRIVIA

It took Edward Bunker 17 years, six novels and over a hundred short stories before his first book was published - as well as surviving on the proceeds of crime, he used to sell his own blood to raise the money to send his writing to publishers and magazines.
